Manadala Workshop With Martien Van Zuilen

Where do I begin to tell you all of the wonderful things we learned together during this workshop...Martien is such a supportive teacher and leads us to realize our own creative visions--no cookie cutters here! The slide show begins with us laying down our designs first and then taking them to a prefelt stage. Once dry we were able to do detail handwork followed by another day of layout and rolling. Each step in the process was fun in and of itself. Hope you enjoy the finish shots--can't really do them justice without a visit in person.

Horizon's View


This mandala is inspired by the cliff along the Oregon coast with its lovely wind-twisted trees and the view to forever...the waves crashing below, the salty breeze, cry of the gulls...

Navajo Churro wool, Blue Faced Leicester wool, silk ribbon, hand dyed wool yarn, bamboo fibers--approx 36" diameter
